Nha Trang has the longest-running beach-party scene in Vietnam, and it stays open later than any other coastal city in the country. Sailing Club has been pouring drinks on the sand at 72-74 Tran Phu for 32 years by its own count, running 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. every day. When it shuts the night does not end — it moves one block inland, where the grid around Nguyen Thien Thuat and Tran Quang Khai runs to 3:00 a.m. and, at Karma Lounge, to 3:30 a.m.
Hoi An's Ancient Town is largely dark by 10:00 p.m., per our Hoi An nightlife guide; Da Nang's An Thuong grid closes between 1:00 and 2:00 a.m., per our Da Nang nightlife guide. Nha Trang is the one Vietnamese beach town built to be awake at three in the morning.

The beachfront strip
The format is unusual for Vietnam: venues on the sand, on the main boulevard, trading from morning to closing.
Sailing Club is the anchor and has been for three decades. It runs 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. daily, serves beer at 70,000-120,000 VND and cocktails around 220,000 VND, and applies no fixed entry fee — though event nights carry a cover of roughly 150,000-250,000 VND per person, usually including a drink. A fire show runs some nights from about 10:00 p.m., but the schedule is not dependably published.
Louisiane Brewhouse at 29 Tran Phu is the other institution, and the more interesting one if you care what is in the glass — a working brewery with its own beach and pool, open 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Its happy hour is unusually good value: all 330 ml beers at 50,000 VND from noon to 2:00 p.m. and again from 11:30 p.m. to close, excluding public holidays. A brewing tour with a tasting costs 400,000 VND; cocktails run 120,000-220,000 VND. List prices outside happy hour are not published, which is itself a reason to drink inside the window.
Two names in older roundups need correcting. Booze Cruise has rebranded as The Fox Sports Bar, per its own social page, and Rainbow Bar is historical — only Rainbow Divers still trades under that name.
The Tran Phu rooftops
Nha Trang's rooftops are unusual in that the best-known one sells itself as an attraction rather than a bar.
Skylight occupies floors 43 to 45 of the Premier Havana at 38 Tran Phu, with a 360-degree skydeck, a glass-floored skywalk and a stated viewing height of about 151 metres. Entry runs around 190,000 VND per person on late-2025 pricing and covers the skydeck, the skywalk, club entry and one welcome drink. The rooftop club opens at 5:00 p.m. and closes at 12:45 a.m. by the venue's own hours, with the skydeck shutting at 11:30 p.m. Happy hour takes 20 percent off drinks from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Dress code is smart casual: shorts and sandals fine, swimwear not. Table bookings carry bottle minimums.
Altitude, on the Sheraton's 28th floor at 26-28 Tran Phu, is the quieter option: no entry fee, cocktails at 180,000-300,000 VND, open mid-afternoon to midnight. Cheaper rooms exist — The Cloud Lounge on the Amarin's 17th floor and The Lighthouse Bar on The Light Hotel's 20th, both with cocktails from 120,000 VND. The clubs and the late hours
The pattern is consistent across every source: the beachfront closes at 2:00 a.m. and the tail lives inland.
HK Club at 38 Tran Phu is the former Havana Club renamed, running 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Tuesday to Saturday and to 3:00 a.m. on Sundays, playing EDM, Vinahouse and hip-hop; pricing is quoted by package rather than published. Why Not Bar is the classic decant venue when Sailing Club shuts, open to 3:00 a.m., though its address is given variously as 54 Nguyen Thien Thuat and 24 Tran Quang Khai. Karma Lounge at 102A Tran Phu is the latest close I could document, at 3:30 a.m., with Killed Kenny Sports Bar on Tran Quang Khai to 3:00 a.m. Our Vietnam nightlife guide puts Hanoi's practical closing time near midnight; only Saigon's District 1 runs later than this.
The floating bar and the boat-party culture
The four-island boat tour is Nha Trang's daytime drinking institution, and a different animal from the snorkelling trips sold alongside it. Group wooden boats carry 40 to 80 passengers around Hon Mun, Hon Mot, Hon Tam and Hon Mieu with a live band, a karaoke emcee and a floating bar — a 60 to 90 minute anchoring where passengers put on life jackets, get in the water and form a ring around a bar floating off the stern. Tours run about 350,000-700,000 VND as of mid-2026, plus roughly 200,000 VND for bay fees and drinks; a private speedboat for two to eight runs $200-350. Bringing your own alcohol is generally not allowed.
The one genuine change is environmental: scuba diving at the Hon Mun marine reserve has been suspended since June 2022 for coral recovery and remained restricted into 2026, with snorkelling shifted to Coral Bay off Hon Mieu. The Russian quarter, stated plainly
A fact about signage and menus rather than a judgement: Nha Trang has a Russian-oriented commercial quarter, and it is documented rather than anecdotal. It runs along Hung Vuong, Nguyen Thien Thuat, Biet Thu and Tran Quang Khai, where businesses display dual Vietnamese and Russian signs, restaurants carry Russian menus, and some shops price in both rubles and dong. Bars and nightclubs included.
The market behind it is large and recovering fast: Khanh Hoa received about 279,000 Russian visitors in the first eight months of 2025 against a 2019 baseline of 493,000, with more than 30 direct flights a week into Cam Ranh. The measure of how fast that outran local capacity is the guiding workforce — in May 2026 the province had 83 Russian-speaking licensed guides out of 2,451. Practically: some Western Quarter venues are oriented to a Russian clientele and some are not, and you can tell from the door.

Safety and getting home
One rule, stated once. Vietnam operates zero-tolerance drink-driving under Decree 168/2024, in force since 1 January 2025. For a motorbike rider, any detectable alcohol draws 2-3 million VND and four points off a twelve-point licence at the lowest tier, rising to 8-10 million VND plus a 22 to 24 month licence revocation at the top; for car drivers the same tiers run 6-8 million to 30-40 million VND. Enforcement reaches visitors — Khanh Hoa police issued 123 violation reports to foreign nationals from January 2026, with fines over 323 million VND. Use Grab or Xanh SM. Two other risks are worth naming. The UK Foreign Office records deaths and serious illness from drinks containing methanol in Vietnam, including in licensed premises in tourist areas — so drink beer, or spirits you watch poured from a sealed bottle. It also links sexual assaults in nightlife areas to unlicensed taxi drivers, the strongest argument for the app over a flagged car. Otherwise the ordinary street rules apply: motorbike bag-snatching is the common crime.
One night, sequenced
Seven o'clock, dinner inland in the Western Quarter, where a full meal costs less than one rooftop cocktail. Eight, up to Altitude or Skylight while happy hour is live — Skylight's runs to 8:30 p.m. Ten, down to the beachfront for Sailing Club or Louisiane. Half past eleven at Louisiane, the second happy-hour window opens and beers drop back to 50,000 VND. Two, the beachfront closes and you either go home or walk one block inland to Why Not or Karma. Limitations
- Nightlife listings rot faster than any other travel content. While researching this guide, Booze Cruise had rebranded as The Fox, Havana Club had become HK Club, and Rainbow Bar turned out to be a 1990s memory. Workaround: check a venue's own social page the week you travel.
- Prices here are bands, not quotes. Sailing Club publishes its bar menu only as a scanned image, and sources disagree on its ranges by 20 to 40 percent. Skylight's ticket is quoted anywhere from 100,000 to 250,000 VND; the 190,000 figure is simply the most recent verifiable one, dated November 2025.
- Closing times are venue practice, not published law, so treat 2:00 a.m. as the plan and anything later as a bonus. The Why Not Bar address is also contradictory across sources.
- No named venue is flagged here as a drink-spiking risk. The pages making those claims cite nothing. The Foreign Office warnings above are better sourced than any venue-level rumour.
